Katharina Krell is co-founder and manager of Greenovate! Europe, a Europe-wide expert group dedicated to bridging the gap between research and market for green innovations. She has initiated and managed numerous initiatives for green technology transfer, for the promotion of environmental knowledge from research & development projects to industry and policy makers and for better eco-innovation framework conditions for SMEs. Ms Krell was a member of the expert group to DG Research & Innovation that helped design the new SME Instrument under Horizon 2020. She is currently working on methodological approaches to greening of selected industrial value chains.
Previously, Ms Krell worked five years as Secretary General for EUREC (European renewable energy research centres) Agency and represented Europe's top renewable energy R&D centers to the European Institutions.
Prior to coming to Brussels, for two years Ms Krell designed renewable electrification strategies for China and the Philippines as GIZ/CIM seconded expert in Hangzhou, China.
Ms Krell holds a BA in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Relations in Geneva, as well as an MBA from United Business Institutes in Brussels.
