myenergy is delighted to invite you to visit Kiowatt, an innovative technology facility in Luxembourg, prior to the conference on Monday 21 September.

Kiowatt is a company promoting the know-how of LuxEnergie S.A., in partnership with Groupe François, for the establishment of green energy production units. Kiowatt is mainly active in the production and distribution of energy from plants using biomass and production of fuels in the form of wood pellets.

Kiowatt pursues two main energy objectives:

  • the cogeneration process allowing the use of the potential energy of a fuel to produce electricity and heat for other processes;
  • the maximum utilisation of heat lost in the process by the succession of several thermal consumers (pellet production, absorption refrigerating machines and remote heat networks) with complementary characteristic requirements.

A strong commitment to the environment and high objectives

At Kiowatt, protecting the environment means a significant reduction in CO2 and a decrease in primary energy consumption.

The Kiowatt project alone will achieve about 5% of the total amount envisaged to be achieved in the national territory in terms of electricity generation, heating and refrigeration from renewable energies by 2020.

In addition, some 350,000 tonnes of CO2 will not be emitted over the same period, a contribution of 14.2% of the expected emissions reductions until 2020 in accordance with European energy target plans for Luxembourg.
